The Science of Heart & Resilience

Carey Hauri presenting a Resilience First Aid workshop to a group of professionals

20 Years of Insight: A Lifetime of Experience

While Carey’s current business is only a year old, her expertise is decades in the making. With a background in journalism and more than 20 years in training, education, and coaching, she has worked with a diverse range of professionals—from engineers and accountants to artists and medical experts. She specialises in strengthening mindset, wellbeing, and resilience.

Following a redundancy last year, Carey launched a fresh start as a certified Resilience First Aid (RFA) Instructor and Coach through Driven, an organisation at the forefront of scientifically proven resilience assessments. Carey is deeply inspired by RFA’s preventative approach to mental health, which focuses on equipping people to build mental wellness proactively and support one another.

The Resilience First Aid Toolkit: Science Meets Connection

Carey’s work is built on the peer-reviewed Predictive 6 Factor Resilience Model (PR6). This comprehensive model utilizes a validated psychometric assessment to help individuals develop the skills and strategies needed to better cope with life’s stresses and challenges.

Her business revolves around three core pillars:

  • Resilience First Aid (RFA) Certification: A two-day mental health certification teaching strength-based skills to build resilience in others.

  • RFA Starter Training: A three-hour introductory workshop providing essential tools for personal and collective mental wellbeing.

  • PR6 Resilience Coaching: Personalised coaching to identify and develop individual resilience strengths and focus areas.

The Woman Behind the Wisdom

Carey’s story is a global one. Born in Switzerland and moving to Australia at age six, she grew up with a foot in two worlds—a journey that eventually led her to live in five countries and visit over thirty more. Speaking four languages and having worked in diverse roles from journalism to teaching, Carey brings a "Life Salsa" energy to her work.

When she isn’t coaching, you’ll find Carey embracing the quiet: meditating in the early morning, lost in a book at a local cafe, or walking along the beach at sunset. It’s this specific balance of worldly experience and personal peace that she brings to her business today.

"For me, the benefit of working in my own business includes the freedom and flexiblity that being self-employed allows, while doing meaningful work that I'm passionate about and makes a life-hanging difference in people's lives"

Carey is offering a dedicated introductory package for NWBA members:
