Meet the Board: Steve Todd

Featuring Steve Todd, Chair NWBA.
A Wealth of Experience Dedicated to Local Success
After 30 years working in and managing a range of manufacturing businesses, Steve Todd decided it was time to shift gears. Seeking a slower pace without stepping away from the work he loved, he launched his small consulting business two years ago. Today, Steve helps small businesses build robust governance and strategy - creating clarity, accountability, and a practical path forward—while ensuring their people, structure, and operations align seamlessly with their overarching business goals.
Connecting Experience with Community
When an advert for a board position with the North West Business Alliance (NWBA) caught his eye, Steve recognized a natural alignment with his new direction.
Despite having lived in the Western Suburbs for over 25 years, Steve’s professional network was largely based elsewhere. Joining the board presented the perfect opportunity to give back locally, deepen his roots, and connect with the vibrant business community right on his doorstep.
"I saw it as a great fit with my new direction - a chance to apply my experience locally while learning more about the area and the incredible business people here."
The Western Suburbs: A Quiet Achiever
Since joining the board, Steve has been struck by the sheer diversity and passion of local business owners. He views the region as a true "quiet achiever" that offers everything an organization needs to thrive:
Comprehensive Business Ecosystem: Home to businesses of all types and sizes, supported by strong local networks.
Exceptional Quality of Life: A great place to live and raise a family - a key advantage when attracting and retaining top talent.
Strategic Connectivity: Outstanding infrastructure connections paired with exciting future developments on the horizon.
Making an Impact
For Steve, one moment stands out as a clear highlight of his time on the board: organizing the NWBA's first Defence-focused evening.
The event drew an enthusiastic crowd spanning a remarkably wide range of industries. Seeing the broad interest and community engagement underscored the essential role the Alliance plays in creating connections that wouldn't otherwise happen.
"I hadn't realized how wide the interest group would be. Without an organization like the NWBA, an event like that never would have happened. It made me genuinely proud to be part of this team."
Off the Clock
When he’s not helping businesses streamline their governance and strategy, you can find Steve keeping active or taking time to unwind:
Early Mornings: Outdoor physical training with a great group of people.
Downtime: Relaxing in the garden with his headphones on, enjoying the world at a sensible pace.
